The following are basic instructions for starting and utilizing the Daragon Software Real Time Imaging System. They apply to both the remote site and home base systems.
1) Start your computer and monitor by pressing the corresponding power switches. (The Monitor power switch is located on the lower right hand corner of the screen. The PCs power switch is located in the upper right hand corner of the unit).
2) Using the mouse locate the "Start Button" on the Windows 95 taskbar and click it with the left button on thte mouse. Then to start the the software, select the RTVIS 100-RS or HB by clicking it with the left mouse button.
3) Now that the software is started You can connect to an out going conference by entering the phone number you wish to call in the "connection number" box.
4) Click on the button labeled Dial.(There will be a 20 to 30 second delay before you will see the actual video displayed in the remote box )
5) The user at the other end will be presented with a dialog box asking if the would like to answer the incoming phone call. They need to answer yes to start the conference.
6) At this point you should be connected to the remote location desired. (If you are receiving any error messages in the "Status Box" please refer to the troubleshooting section of this manual.
7) If you would like to record the session, refer to the deatailed instructions for instructions on recording a session.
8) When finished, either site may end the session by selecting ‘Hang Up’ with the mouse. Typically it may take from 10-30 seconds for the call to disconnect. It is important to let the system complete all of its internal functions for disconnecting before making another call. This usually requiers at least 30 seconds. If try to make another call before the sytem is ready again, you may have to exit the software and shutdown the system and then restart it so that the system resets properly.
7) To Exit the Real Time Imaging System simply move your mouse cursor to the "Conference" label in the upper left side of your RTVIS main screen. Click and hold this label while dragging the cursor down to the text "Exit". This will allow you to exit the RTVIS system safely.
8) To completely exit the computer system do not just hit the power switch. Always go to the "Start Icon" on the task bar and then highlight "Shut Down" and left click with the mouse to select it. You will then be prompted in regards to the exactly how you would like to shut down the computer. Place a dot in the circle next to the option "Shut down the computer", then click on "OK" and your shutdown will commence. Do not turn the power switch off until you are prompted with the message: "It is now safe to turn off your computer". It is also normal in some systems that the computer will shut itself down, just don’t forget to turn off you monitor.
9) To use any of the optional features of the Real Time Imaging System please refer to the "Detailed Instructions" section of this Manual.
