1. Check to see if the camera protection shudder is open. (Note: If when the camera protection shudder is completely open and the green light located on the lower right corner of the camera is not lit up then there is no power connected to the camera. This problem can be corrected by checking the connections to the power receptacle on the wall. If the connection on the wall is secure then the only other serviceable problem is the connection on the back of the camera itself). Also be sure to check that all connections on the back of the computer are secure are secure. Tighten any loose connection as you find them.
3. Start up your computer by pushing the power switch located on the upper right hand corner of the system chassis. At this time also start your monitor by pressing the square shaped power button on the lower right hand corner of the monitor.
4. Now that your computer is started and all connections are checked and adjusted if necessary you should see two icons located on your computer desktop. They should read Home Base (or Remote Site) , and RCPlay.
5. Double click on the Home Base (or Remote Site) icon. The Daragon Software copyright protection information will now be displayed centered within your monitor for approximately 10 seconds. After this information is displayed the main screen will appear with the local video.
6. In the Home Base version, the local video will display the signal from the camera mounted on top of the monitor. In the Remote Site version, the local video can be adjusted to display one of two sources, either the live ultrasound image or a live video of you and your surroundings. This is done by turning the knob on the separate black box from source A to Source B.
7. To connect to another computer with the RTVIS installed first you have to enter the phone number that you wish to connect to in the box labeled Connection Number. After this number is entered press the Dial button. The computer will now try to connect you to the remote location trying to be contacted.
8. Now one of two messages will be displayed. Either "conference connected" or an error message. The error message would be most commonly caused by one problem. This is usually that the other system is already in use, (busy) or that the system is simply not turned on. Is the remote system manned and ready for the connection? This is important because the computers cannot connect to each other unless the remote user is there and ready to accept the call. (Note: This inconvenience can be overcome by placing a check in the box next to "Auto Answer" underneath the connection number box used earlier).
9. The conference is now in session. We will now discuss the many options that that can be adjusted to make the program better suit your needs.
